HOW TO BEAT YOUR COMPETITION WITH SOCIAL MEDIA
Whether you have a small business starting up, or you’ve already had one going, you’re going to come across some competition. You may be curious as to how to get ahead of those competitors and be more successful. You’ve laid out every tactic, but you’ve left out social media. But what you don’t think about is how important it really is. Everyone is on social media, connect with potential customers and clients, and blow away the competition, with these tips to help you win big time using social media.
Although bigger companies have more money which means they can afford better and more advertising and marketing, smaller businesses can get right up there by simply using social media. Of course you’re on a lower budget, so what’s easier than using the one thing that everybody is always on? Nothing. By knowing how to strategically use all platforms of social media, smaller businesses can be level or even gain the upper hand when going against more well known companies. All you need is a smart and creative plan on how to utilize social media in a way that will grab the audience and keep them interested.
Businesses everywhere get on the social media boat and begin advertising themselves. But just because everyone does this doesn’t mean it helps them all. You can post and market your business as much and as often as you want, but the quality is what will give you customers. A lot of people sit on their phones and scroll on all their favorite apps, so you need to stand out so that they take their time to look into you instead of just scrolling right past.
MAKE THEM FEEL LIKE THEY’RE MORE THAN THEIR MONEY
This one can be pretty easy, and with bigger companies, this will definitely help you a lot. If there’s another business that generally does or sells the same thing as you, why would someone choose your business over another that they’ve heard more about, or can get a cheaper cost? One thing you can do to have the crowd leaning towards you is to engage with them. Show them you care about providing them with top quality and not just getting their money. Treat them like a friend and not like somebody who’s paying for your services. You can easily do this by responding to any potential client or customer and showing them you care about each and every one of them.
HOW MUCH YOU SPEND AND HOW BIG THE AD IS, DOESN’T MATTER
If somebody is thinking about giving you their money, more than likely they’re going to compare and research. They’re going to really look into not only your business but your competitors as well. They’ll do their research on you to ensure they’re getting their money’s worth. They’ll look at your reviews and comments and how well liked you are on social media. They want to make sure you’re somebody they can trust and won’t regret handing their money to. You should get any customers you’ve had already to like your content. This will show that people have used you and liked what they got. People will see this and take in to account how many people trusted you and were satisfied.
BECOME AN INFLUENCER
Whether you believe it to be ideal or not, creating a partnership with another similar company can really help you out. Having a few customers is great, but having a few more is even better. People won’t just agree to partnering with another business just because they’ve been working for ten years, they want to work with somebody who will bring in business and who is reliable. Try reaching out to another business similar to yours and proposing a plan that will bring in even more customers for the both of you. Businesses will choose to work with a company that’s been running for a couple of months rather than a few years if they feel they’ll work better together and bring them more business.
ASK FOR FEEDBACK
Just like before, the more people that show they’ve used and loved what you have to offer, the more business you’ll bring in. If you gain a following on social media, it’s really easy just to request customer feedback. It’s easy and keeps you from spending any money coming up with good reviews. Ask any prior customers to leave some feedback which other potential customers will see. With this you could gain tons more clients. And as you grow more on social media, you’ll have more people out there telling you what they’d like to see from you and why they would buy it. This is great for you and your business.
REFERRALS
We’ve all come across some companies that we may really like, but then they end up with the worst customer service. This is a major turn off and will drive people away. If somebody doesn’t like what they’ve received from you and leaves a comment, reply back and try to figure out what was wrong and how you could fix for the future. This will show others that you truly care about customer satisfaction and the quality of your products. Having great communication with your buyers will have a positive impact on your business and it’s future. People who use you and love you will tell their friends and everyone they know about you to let them fall in love with you as well. Make sure your social media represents who your business is and what it’s about.
You don’t need to have a lot of money or even a lot of previous clients to succeed on social media and gain more customers. All you have to do is know how to present yourself well in a way that people will want to work with you.
