STAFF MEETING PRODUCTIVITY

We all want to have a successful and well-running business. One of the most important things we can do to make that happen, is to check in with each other regularly and discuss. Here are a few things to make sure you’re getting things done.

GO WITH THE PLAN

You can steer clear from slow and uneventful meetings by making a plan and following it. By everybody knowing what is going to be discussed and what their goal is, is making sure everybody is staying on task. You should try to make the meeting fun so nobody gets bored but make sure it’s still informative and is helping the business reach their goals. Choosing a main focus for each individual meeting and having a creative way of going about it is keeping the meeting from being a waste of time.

BE AWARE OF THE TIME

If you have regular meetings then you know how annoying it is when a meeting goes way over the time your boss said it would end. That’s why every employee should be able to trust that a meeting is going to end at the time they were told it would. You should especially try to limit meetings to an hour at most. Most people lose their focus when someone is just rambling on and on. Keeping the meeting from running long will ensure all your staff stays focused and paying attention.

FIGURE OUT “WHY”

Each person should be responsible of reporting a victory for the team to discuss what you did well and why you did well. This gets the meeting off to a good start by getting right at it. You should set a time during your minute to focus on thinking of ideas, way to solve problems and the development of your business. This is helpful because it creates a successful meeting for everyone no matter what. It’s also a good way to use the time you’re given so you can be more productive. Focus more on “why” rather than “what” or “how.”

FOLLOW YOUR OWN EXAMPLES

When you’re a leader the most important thing should be creating a team that works together and is successful. This means helping each other out. When you’re helping out your team members give them examples and tips but make sure you’re acting on them as well. This ensures that everybody is able to work together and produce what works. Try to get every single member involved in the meetings, or assign each person a goal for the next meeting so when they finish the task they own a part in the meeting. This keeps them attentive and happy because they have their own personal success as well.

MAKE IT WORTH IT

If you’re the one holding the meeting, make sure you have something that the employees are going to want to join because of. You’re in charge of the experience so make it better by making it worth it to everyone. You could try having a little competition between each other with an incentive for whoever is more successful. Have something that makes it fun for everyone so they will always want to join and be there.

MEET PERSONAL EXPECTATIONS

Make sure you’re finding out the needs of your employees as well as for yourself. You could even plan a meeting solely for everybody to recognize their personal goals and how you can achieve them while also reaching team goals. Share these with the other members of your team so that throughout time they can help you with reaching it. As time goes on and you’re meeting expectations regularly as a team, use each other as help with meeting your personal ones.
